Overstaying more than the grace period provided by the UAE Government may lead to fines. However, if you have a valid reason due to unexpected situation beyond your control, there are some procedures set by the UAE Government to reconsider your condition. Below are the following list and requirements on how to apply for the visa fine waiver:

(Kindly note that this is subject for the approval/rejection from the GDRFA Authority).

Requirements:

• Legal/ Judicial reasons – petition letter from the company of the Sponsor or applicant, & to whom it may concern letter from court/Police (in case passport is reserved).
• Health reasons – petition letter from the company or sponsor or applicant, medical report with entry & exit date from the hospital in Arabic medical report with entry & exit date from the hospital in Arabic and it must be issued from Health authority or Health ministry.
• Assistant categories or Dubai Marsoom holders- petition letter from the company or Sponsor or (applicant for Dubai marsoom holders)
• Personal sponsorship (family)- petition letter from the Sponsor, – passport copy of the sponsor + visa – sponsor labor contract/salary certificate/memorandum, if there are documents that support the causes of the violation, please submit it.
• Sponsor death- – petition letter from the company with the stamp or sponsor or applicant – passport copy of the applicant + visa – passport copy of the sponsor (family sponsorship) – trade license and establishment card for companies – death certificate
• Company sponsorship- – Original emirates id of sponsor or partner or company pro – petition letter from the company with the stamp – passport copy of the applicant + visa – establishment card copy – trade license.
• Delay in passport renewal/issuing—required petition letter from the company or Sponsor or applicant – letter from the embassy/consulate of the date of submitting the passport renewal application or issuing the passport application. + visa – trade license and establishment card for companies – labor contract for personal sponsorship
• Have at least minimum fines of Dh1500 (under family visa) & Dh3500 (under Employment Visa) to apply.

List of Mandatory Documents:
1. Original Emirates ID (Sponsor) + Passport visa copy
2. Passport for Applicant + visa
3. Visa copy (File Number) which has fines
4. New approved e -visa (incase to apply for change status)
5. Cancellation Paper (incase wants to leave the country)
6. NOC/ Petition letter (Arabic) request reduced fines or Letter of exemption.
7. UID number from GDRFA for (New born) to process the fine reducing application.
